In the first quarter of 2025, Ireland's iOS social networking landscape showcased intriguing trends across the top five apps, as detailed by Sensor Tower.

Threads experienced a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting from about 6K at the beginning of the quarter, dipping to around 4.5K mid-March, and closing at approximately 5.4K. Active users fluctuated slightly, peaking at around 231K in early January and stabilizing at approximately 222K by the end of March.

Telegram Messenger saw consistent weekly revenue, with peaks reaching about $6.9K in early February. Downloads were relatively steady, averaging around 2.5K to 3.5K weekly. Active users showed a slight increase, starting at 185K and rising to over 206K by the end of the quarter.

The Chinese app 小红书 – 你的生活兴趣社区 displayed a notable spike in downloads in mid-January with over 27K, followed by a sharp decline. Revenue fluctuated, with a significant peak at $670 in mid-March. Active users dropped from 15.7K in mid-January to just over 2.8K by the end of March.

Facebook maintained stable revenue, peaking at approximately $3.4K in late March. Downloads decreased slightly throughout the quarter, starting at about 2.9K and ending at around 1.6K. Active users remained strong, fluctuating around 340K to 350K.

WhatsApp Messenger had a steady presence with active users consistently above 1.8M, peaking at 1.87M in late March. Although downloads trended downward, starting at 2.8K and closing at about 1.3K, the app's user engagement remained robust.
